Here is my reason why I am mostly trying not to get into reading whatever I find interesting enough: when I get into it I just can't stop going on and on, I could sit at my machine all day and all Night long reading away, and oh my, then I tend to forget about my duties! So I just rather save whatever I would like to read later, and of course I never get to them anytime in the future! ~lol ^^ ~lays ears blushy
Do you find yourself "avoiding good reads" intentionally sometimes? :D

I do this. Laundry piles up. The dishes don't get done. The flowers remain unwatered, sometimes I don't even eat well, because I'm just grabbing what ever is available. (Thank heavens I taught my children to cook, they'll never starve.) I haven't had a lot of clients recently, but I'm starting with one soon. No time to read then.
I could sit with a good book for 8 or more hours at a sitting. I have It by Stephen King sitting on my NOOK, and my copy of Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury is on the head board of the bed and I've been avoiding them because I have things to do.
*sigh* I wish I was independently wealthy and had "help" so I could just read all day if I wanted. Only I'd probably give it all away and be in exactly the place I am now.

I think a lot of us do that. We need the audio books on CD and listen to the book only in the car, so we can limit our time. Either that or we keep driving til its over. LOL

Yea, I have a bad habit of getting sucked into books, so I'll have books pile up for a while, and then spend a weekend reading through them

I have so many books I put off reading cos I won't be able to stop. I hate the way life gets in the way of reading!
