I love Boardwalk Empire; the Roaring Twenties is one of my favourite periods in history, though I agree about the show being a little slow at times.

I love it. I grew up in NJ. and It gives you a real view of what they say went on in the 20s. and I love the 20s.

I strongly prefer the 40s, maybe thats why i'm not such a huge fan

I saw a few episodes at this guy's house a couple years ago, but I don't have HBO, so I haven't gotten to see anything since. I'd watch it if I had the channel, though.
