Do you trust the major media (NBC, CBS, ABC, BBC...etc)to be giving you the straight scoop?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
As the political hype grows, it seems that every "network" is trying to push an agenda (left or right). SO...do you really trust any of these networks to be pure providers of equal information, and to let YOU decide?

Where's Fox on this list? BBC is ok in general. The rest, no. All media has an agenda.

Yeah, where is FOX? I just got lectured about it being the only truthful source, which was very frustrating. I don't trust any one news source. News is written by people and it is hard to keep bias out. I read around and somewhat skeptically.

I trust some of those listed more than others. I'd choose BBC over most American networks any way. I also trust NPR.

Pretty much any news, since it comes from people, is going to be biased. That said, the BBC and PBS are very reliable and have minimal bias, so I tend to go to them for most of my news

I sure don't trust any of them, and rather read news online. Information Clearing House is a pretty good source...

Agreed - and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY to see that the sheep mentality the powers that be expect us to have doesn't seem to describe most of the people here on EF - and hopefully out there, among the "non-EF-users" too! ^^

With the news, I figure the "real truth" lies somewhere in the middle of both extremes. I will generally watch the evening news on NBC, but mostly because I like hearing some of the positive stories they do about people doing nice things. For the actual news, I prefer NPR.

They're all biased, but at least I can tell which way each one leans and decide what to watch based on that.

Thats all I watch is BBC World News. They discuss topics and news stories you either barely hear over here or not at all.

I hate the news. It's bad enough I have to look at it while eating food in King China with hubby. He's usually laughing at me since I tend to glare at the four huge TV'S they have in there.
