Usually see the movie first, it takes me so long to get through a book!

I always read the book first. But mmmmm is right. 9 out of 10 times you will be disappointed in the movie if you do it that way. I always seem to enjoy the read better than the watch.

I read the book first, you just get so much more detail from the book, yes I get a bit angry when I see the movie and its all wrong, but I prefer to read the book first.

I read a lot, so I almost always read the books first, often a long time before there are movies. Harry Potter is one exception I can think of - I hadn't gotten around to reading them before I saw the first four movies.

I like to read the books first. a lot of times movies leave out stuff and i like to use my own imagination first to dream up the locations and people.

Same here, except I did read the first few HP books before I made it to the silver screen. Generally, if I haven't read the book before it becomes a movie, it's not the kind of book I'd want to read in the first place. Sometimes I do see a cool movie and find it was adapted from a book I'd never heard of, but only rarely.

I try to read the books before going to see the movie, but realistically that doesn't always happen.

Sometimes I read the book before I see the movie. If I like the movie, sometimes that motivates me to read the book.

It depends. If I already read the book then I'll watch the movie. Otherwise sometimes I don't even know of a book until the movie. Like Before Night Falls and now I love all his writings.

Usually I don't read books that are made into movies if anything I read books based on movies. Its a lot easier to write a book about something than to turn a 600 page book into a good movie.

Always book first then the movie. Then I sit there comparing the differences (in my head) while watching the movie.

I usually try to read the book first, but it mostly depends on which one I'm aware of first. Some movies I'll see, and then realize they were first a book afterwards. One thing I hate about seeing the movie first though, is when I read the book, I can't keep myself from imagining the characters as the actors who played them in the movie.

Just depends, sometimes I don't even know there is a book until I've seen the movie but if they DO make a movie off of a book I've read, I'm always disappointed, especially when they don't follow it...or they change the ending to something more general crowd pleasing instead. Grr!
