Just curious if anyone likes these...they always show a Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween one.
Do you like Charlie Brown holiday tv specials?

Our little guy has them all on dvd since we don't have any kind of cable tv.

A couple of them are really good, some are only good for nostalgic purposes, and the rest are mostly very bad, with a few spots of delight in their storylines.

I know of three different Christmas episodes of the Peanuts series. I don't care much for Rerun trying to get a dog one; but Rerun's always annoyed the fuck out of me. The Patty in a sheep costume one is cute (Patty as a sheep: "Woof! Meow! Moo! Whatever! And a partridge in a pear tree!"). The original is simply lovely in its innocence.
I like the Halloween one, merely because I just know that in about ten years, Sally will be dragging Linus' ass out to the pumpkin patch and it won't be about the Great Pumpkin.
Thanksgiving one could have been better (the one with Patty inviting herself and everyone else to T-day dinner at Charlie Brown's).
Easter Beagle was cute.
Didn't care too much for the New Year's and Valentine's Day ones.
On another note, I tend to have a soft spot in my heart for the Peanuts because I played Lucy in a production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". Despite it being almost 20 years ago, I'm still in contact with most all of my castmates.

I've only seen a handful and not in a long time, but the soundtrack for the Charlie Brown Christmas will always stand out for me. A few years ago we were leaving our car club president's house and made it only a few miles before the breaks on our car started to fail. I didn't realize just how bad it was until we got home and my husband clued me in. He had been terrified the whole time we were driving, a lot more than he let on. That soundtrack was playing in the background; something calming and peaceful to combat the sheer terror he felt knowing that it would be almost impossible to stop without hitting somebody. Not a great story, but it's what I think of every time I hear about Charlie Brown Christmas.

I'm okay with being the only one so far who doesn't like them... call me a Scrooge I guess, but all the animated specials this time of year leave me completely dis-interested. It's not that I don't have that holiday spirit, I just don't like them.

I've never liked Charlie Brown or the whole Peanuts thing at all. I'm just not a fan, I'd go so far as to say I hate them since I find them intensely irritating.
