As long as it makes people happy to keep finding new ways to have fun, doesn't bother me. Given how long some other series have gone on, it's not actually that bad.

I'm pretty sure they aren't marketing it for the enjoyment of 32 year-old males. Kids enjoy it, hence Pokemon products continue to be made. What do you do that Pokemon is so pervasive in your life? Because, I'll be honest, unless I'm in the toy store or video game store I don't ever see Pokemon. Also, I'm pretty sure nobody is strapping you to a chair with a gun to your head forcing you to watch the TV shows and movies. Also, Transformers have been around almost 30 years, Ninja Turtles for almost as long, and I believe the Power Rangers are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. I don't hear you bitching about any of that.

Seriouslyyy? How crotchety. I grew up in the first generation of Pokemon and I absolutely love it , I'm a die-hard fan and I honestly think it was great and deserves to still be going. Now, I'm biased toward first and second gen since that was when I was younger, but I know the kids nowadays get to love it just like I did, and that's awesome to have that connection with the next generation.

I'm still in love with pokemon, but only up to the third generation. After that, I stop caring. But I'm not bothered by it or anything, I never really see much pokemon stuff in my daily life. However, I know what you mean. I have the exact same sentiments towards Doctor Who.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that Pokemon annoyed me the first time around, and now my son is getting into it and I'm just as annoyed. But you know what annoys me even more than Pokemon? Those frigging Power Rangers! Why do kids keep liking them so darn much?!? I could deal with never seeing another Power Ranger.

(Doctor Who, on the other hand, is awesome. )

OMG no! Noooo, I like Pokemon. It's been a very long time since I played any of the games (I think my last one was like... Yellow, actually) but I keep meaning to try and play the newer ones. I remember how much I loved those games and the TV show when I was a kid and I don't think it'll ever quite lose that nostalgia factor. Plus, it's so addictive. They have these things now that are like pedometers that you wear on your belt when you're not playing, and it affects your gameplay somehow which is neat - I think it gives your Pokemon experience or something.

I'm just rambling now. I love love love video games and I don't care if Pokemon is marketed toward the younger set, I still have fun playing around with it sometimes.

Also, Jigglypuff is badass.

It's not much different than the fact Power Rangers is still around and the Mikey Mouse shit on Disney.

It is annoying that they kept the exact same handful of characters but fucked their voice actors up.

They could have at least changed all of them out when the VA's started to quit.

Love pokemon. Those who wish it would just "stop" must not have enjoyed it at much as a kid. I am getting tired of their confused way of making part 2s to games (White and Black 2). The show can get old, I don't see how people follow it. I love the movies still, but only in Japanese.

It's for kids! If it makes them happy, then who cares?

Besides, I think they're cute. Pikachu is darling.

I could understand if it was the Teletubbies or something that was bothering you, but even then, it's for kids to enjoy.

...seriously though, fuck Teletubbies. Creepy little buggers...

I like Pokemon still, I just wish they would stop making new Pokemon because I can't keep up with them. But I don't watch the show, sometimes I'll watch the movies for shits and giggles.

I can't stand 20-somethings who have serious discussions about Pokemon or Pokemon nostalgia.

What I recommend for you is to stop buying the games or paying attention to it. If you already do that, then there's not a whole lot else you can do. Regardless of the quality of the games, movies, show, merchandise, or whatever, the Pokemon brand still makes a butt ton of money. Financially, it would be a pretty bad idea for Nintendo to stop producing Pokemon.
