Cheerful or gloomy music? :)

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
Well, I adore goofy music and pretty much anything what is not your typical popular tunes and totally cute and stuff - but all over my life I have been a gloomy, sad, dark and introverting music maniac, so all the emotional, romantic, depressed, sad music is what I cherish maybe like nothing else - gothic, darkwave, and all the related tunes... (Though I couldn't give the beats of metal and blues and rock&roll away for all the treasures of the world...!!! ^^ And many other tunes too of course... ^^)

I like a range of music, but if I find myself getting into the gloomier stuff, I try to change it up.

Rather deep and gloomy than silly and jolly.

I listen to EDM (electronic dance music). I'm pretty sure that classifies as "cheerful" since it's upbeat and all. I'm depressed often, so it keeps me in better spirits. Listening to depressing music when I'm already depressed is like fueling a fire. When I'm not depressed, it's just fun to listen to.

I love classical music and jazz compositions that have a gloomy sound to them, but when it comes to vocals I don't care for sad stuff.

Most of the time I like cheerful music but it depends entirely on my mood and sometimes on the tone I'm trying to set at the moment in the novel I'm writing.

I vacillate between gloomy and frenetic/angry. Cheerful bums me out.

I'll take whatever I can listen to as long as it's good. Further, my mood is a very influential and subjective aspect.

I want music that makes me happy. If I want gloom, I just need to put on the news.
