I'm a fan of VHS but DVD's are more reliable to keep.

I like bluray for all of the extras you can get on them.
03/19/2012
I'm still happy with DVD.
03/19/2012
dvd

blue ray too costly for my taste and i'm too lazy to rewind vhs.

I like dvds. Just being able to get to cut to a certain place in the movie is convenient. I still have a lot of vhs too.

I guess I'm old fashioned. I have tons of VHS from when I was a teenager.
03/20/2012
I do miss the days of the VHS where you could past-forward through anything, but DVDs are more compact and seem to last longer. I don't have much experience with blu-ray, but I think they're too expensive.
03/20/2012
I love DVDS but I hate that they scratch so easily
03/20/2012
Blu-rays. I absolutely hate buying a DVD and only having it take up a very small bar on my hi-def tv. The 1080p actually projects to fill my tv screen and I can actually see the picture better.
03/20/2012
Don't have a blu-ray player
03/20/2012
Blu-ray. As simple to use as DVD's, barely more expensive (usually under $20), but I hate both of their loads of warnings, promos, and BS before you can watch. Shared HD releases (see: pirates) are still the best all-around, but I fear this golden age of information & entertainment will end soon...

We're definitely still in a transition phase now. VHS tapes will eventually breakdown, to the point they can't even be watched (magnetic tape). DVD's will eventually become a novelty. Sure, you can find them, but anything worth watching will be on BluRay anyway.
03/20/2012
DVD. They don't take up much space and you can have a lot of movies on them, they are not out of date and most of the movies are available for them online. BluRay isn't something I would waste the money to upgrade to.

Yup! With almost 4000 movies already W/we won't need no BluRay I bet, it will take a long time anyway to for the industry to forget about them! ~grins wide and satisfied ^^

Blu ray is too expensive. I'll stick to SD.

DVD..I haven't moved to Blu-ray yet
03/22/2012
DVD's for us. We have netflix so we get blu-rays from them and play them in the PS3.
03/22/2012
We don't own any Blurays, but we have 2 bluray players in the household, so when we rent things, we try to get Bluray.
03/22/2012
We have a bluray player so we can watch dvds and blurays on it.
03/22/2012
DVD players. Plus game consoles that play them as well.
03/22/2012
I love our DVDs. BluRay is nice, but I'm content with the DVDs.
03/22/2012
DVDs. its what i've got the most of and started collecting when i got into movies. i do like the new bluray/dvd box ones so i get the 1080p for the one bluray i have. and a DVD to take with me anywhere else.
03/22/2012
DVD!
03/23/2012
it is all about laser disk. and movies on the wall.

Bluray, especially for action movies.
03/23/2012
DVD AND VHS I NOT READY TO THROW OUT ALL OF MY COLLECTION AND START OVER.
03/23/2012
I never saw a difference between DVD and Blu-ray that was was big enough to make for the price difference.
03/26/2012
I was all about the DVDs until I watched my first movie on Blu-ray (Fellowship of the Ring). I've seen it at least 100+ times, and I was seeing things on Blu that I've never noticed before. The difference in quality definitely makes up for the increased cost.
03/27/2012
I'm still on DVDs and don't quite understand blu-ray.
03/27/2012
I like Blu-Ray, but I'm not willing to pay a ton more than DVD for it. When it's comparable in cost, though, I like Blu-Ray over DVD.
03/27/2012
I prefer Blu-Ray over dvd for all the benefits, but only for my favorite movies. Anything else is fine on dvd.
03/28/2012
Blue Ray for the quality, DVD for the practicality, and VHS for the nostalgia. Overall, I voted for the practicality of DVDs.
03/28/2012
blu ray is overkill.
03/28/2012
VHS! I love that you can buy a box of them for five bucks. With my nephew running around and scratching up our DVDs... it's just more practical to stick with VHS.

I converted my 300 VHS tapes to DVD....another 300 to go. About that time, DVD will be dead and gone as 4K is about to make DVD AND BluRay "old hat".

I have all 3 formats. But, I still like the DVD's. How many people have a 5/DVD changer? They don't make it in Blu-Ray! So until they do, I will stay a DVD customer.

DVD is great, but I go all nostalgia and watch VHS Disney movies every now and then
04/30/2012
I don't really buy physical media much anymore online download and streaming are replacing that. That being said I have zero VHS tapes and nothing that could play them if I did, a lot of DVDS and a handful of Blue Rays.
05/06/2012
I prefer DVD, but I recently acquired a bluray player in the form of a PS3. Once I get more experience with it I'll be able to make an informed decision...
05/06/2012
dvds, I don't think blu-rays are worth the money.... they're getting cheaper now though so that's good

It's actually cheaper to buy the Blu-Ray&DVD combo they were never really that much more expensive than DVD's o_o unless the place you're shopping at just over charges xD

Where I live DVD and Blu-Ray are either the same price; or Blu-ray comes with a better deal (as not everyone in my household has the ability to watch Blu-ray it works out better for the DVD.
To answer the thread question I prefer Blu-Ray to VHS and there is really no difference between the DVD and Blu-Ray other than quality... so there isn't much point in comparing them. B|

05/07/2012
DVD's all the way. I can't remember the last time I even touched a VHS tape. Let alone watch one.
05/08/2012
dvd and blurays are fine by me
05/10/2012
DVD's are great for me. I don't want to even start a Blu-Ray collection because they are expensive...and they will just come out with something newer, so I'm not even going to bother until I have to...if ever. Haha.
06/20/2012
I don't really buy many movies but I buy blu-ray when I do.
06/20/2012
DVD. But there's something so nice to not having to deal with menus...
