I think it's interesting when people use the billions-and-billions theory. Using this theory to suggest something exists, can be looked as 'faith' - something that is normally associated with religion.
When people believe in a God - they are perceived to have faith in something they can never actually see.
In some ways scientists practice a 'religion' because the espouse many things that can never be seen or proven.
Sorry - I didn't mean to hijack you entry, I'm sure you didn't mean your comment in a religious way. I just find the billions-and-billions theory so interesting ever since Carl Sagan introduced it 20-30 years ago.
