I'm thinking of getting in to BSG, as I've heard some very good things about it, but I didn't know where to start - so I came on here, intending to look in the BSG thread for some advice (original vs remake, start with miniseries or first season etc.), but there wasn't one! So I'm taking it upon myself to set one up.

I watched it with my ex when we were still dating, I wasn't really into it so I only watched and episode or two. I do know a lot of people that really like it though. I think it's one of those shows that you either really like or you aren't interested at all.

I've recently started watching the remake on Netflix, and really like it. I take issue with certain things on the show (because I'm a nerd) but I do really like it over all. I just started in right away with Season 1, and that worked out great for me.

Not a huge fan of those space dramas, im more of an xfiles fan.

I LOVE the BSG remake!!! I've never watched the orignal but a friend of mine says the remake does pay a bit of homeage to it. Also some characters have been altered, not just Starbuck's gender but apparently the origninal Adama was more of a bumbling old man.

I have never seen the original show, though I intend to, only the new version, first two seasons and started the third, didn't go further because of breaking up with the guy I was watching it with, though am DYING TO START TO WATCH IT with my Master again!!!!!!!!!

A friend mentioned it to me, saying I will love it as hell because it is FULL of psychology!!! I am not a giant space sci-fi fan (prefer the other sort of sci-fi way more, about strange future and stuff like that), but when I started to watch it, OH HOLY FAKKU, it has blown me away!!!!!!!!

I have watched quite a few other shows since then, so am not sure if I will still say that it is the VERY BEST SHOW EVER!!! Though I guess I will...

It is AMAZING how they go deep into all the different moral and mental aspects of life, and how excellently they give the examples of a billion things about human nature!!! I must say that I could hardly decide if I had to choose if Star Wars or BSG is better! Because they are both MINDBLOWINGLY FANTASTIC, BEST SCI-FI STUFF EVER!!!!!!
