It's been over a decade since Leo Tolstoy's novel was adapted for the screen (I believe the last version was the PBS Masterpiece Theatre one from 2001, and before that a 1997 version starring Sophie Morceau) and now the director of Atonement and Pride & Prejudice has made a new version.
