My daughter asked me just the other day, if we wanted a new Expresso machine. Or a new big screen tv. Our machine is about 16 yrs old and the tv, 18 yrs old.

Which would you use more? I like to think about things like that when deciding purchases. I
don't watch Tv, that's my kids and hubby's domain. I don't drink espresso/coffee either.

Both are great gifts. If she can find a good deal, it would be really awesome to have a new smart flat screen TV I mean....think of ALL the things you can do with that!!!

But, if it were me, I would tell her, " Whichever one she found the best deal on, would be great".

I have it kind of easy this year. We decided to cut way back on our spending and will only be doing a couple of gifts. So, maybe 1 from me, 1 from our daughter, and maybe 1 from both me and my daughter (just because this is hard for me to not buy him tons of things--lol). So, I'm just getting him these wireless, wrap around ear buds that he wants.

Yes totally agree ! Kids growing up with great memorable experiences is very very very important. Not just during holiday but all yr round. I bet your kids are well taken care of. We still keep their older toys/animals around. The memory of their happiness and smiles is priceless. And of course how they are loved is more important than material gifts.
