Sharing birthday parties?

Contributor: jmex83 jmex83
my wife and I have birthdays pretty close together (hers is on the 14th of may and mine on the 3rd). I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen with their partner and if you celebrated them together or apart? if together, what kind of things did you both do to celebrate? Im trying to come up with some ideas for our birthdays and not sure what to do.

Not with a partner, but I have shared birthdays with both family and friends. There have been dinner parties, or going out to do something together, and of course, cake

I don't or haven't had this happen before but a coworker once shared a birthday within less than a week of her spouse, so they always would do something really special. They would usually take a cab, go get some drinks somewhere and go dancing with friends who would usually buy them a drink or two, maybe go eat dinner somewhere nice, and they'd take a cab home.

We do this all the time in my family. My cousin and I are 2 years and 1 day apart, and one of my nephews and one of my sisters share a birthday, which is 10 days before my other sister's birthday, and 10 days after my father's birthday, which is five days after one of my brother's birthdays, and my other brother and his wife are 3 days apart, with one of my nieces a week later.

So we usually have two big family birthday parties a year - one for the late summer/early fall birthdays, and one for the late winter/early spring birthdays. My cousin and I celebrate together with just our friends, since we're roomies right now, and then go to the big family party.

Sounds like a good idea. we usually don't get to go "drinking" or out to bars/clubs together because theres always one of us that has to drive, so its kind of a bummer of a time out for us. my wife is usually really gracious with letting me be the one to have a few drinks because she says I work hard during the week. which is nice. Just wish we could kind of let loose together! I'll see what i can do with something like this. thanks!
