How many feel it is just not New Years Eve unless the watch the BALL DROP in Times Square? (Obviously for MOST that would mean on TV or on the NET)!!

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Since we started dating...good golly, 37 years ago (!!!) it has always been our tradition that no matter where we are, or what we are doing (and we are usually out partying or in bed partying!) we have on some New Years Eve show watching the ball in Times Square drop (Dick Clark has been part of our life for forever, it seems).

How about YOU? Is that TIMES SQUARE BALL DROP a tradition for you too???

Not only do I not watch it, but I try to be as distant from that shit as possible. I'll be in Queens, far away from this:

I have never once watched that. We are not holiday people, so we don't get into that kind of thing even a little bit.

I don't care for new years eve. It's not like the 1st of Jan is going to be any different from the 31st Dec!

I never watch it, but I'm not a big new years person either. It's a nice symbol or whatever but I try to keep on track with what I need to be doing and what I like and want to change about my life all the time rather than just a certain time of year. And I'm not a big partier, soo..

I beg to differ. Just look at what happens to your paycheck as Social Security and all the other stuff comes creeping back into the mix on January 1st!!!!!

BINGO...very well said. That ball drop is what "makes it" for us, regardless of if we are OUT partying in formal dress attire or in bed partying in our birthday suits (both of which have happened often over the years, when midnight strikes).

No, it's New Year for me when I see live fireworks. I record the show so I can fast forward through the dreck and watch any interesting musical acts.
