Okay, here is where we currently stand:
I am supposed to deliver the packages and food to the family either this Saturday or Sunday. I have found someone who speaks Spanish with whom I can meet tomorrow afternoon so that this person can call the family (in my presence) to set up a time for delivery. I am also going to have this person ask the parents if they have a television because the toy that I bought the son is a Plug 'n Play game (at the suggestion of many young men I "interviewed," LOL!).
I am in the midst of trying to locate a different toy for the older girl. (I'd read some reviews on the toy I had bought for her after my purchase that indicate that it breaks too easily.) The toy I bought for the baby is a singing plush puppy that says the names of colors, numbers, and letters. I chose this toy because the mother had requested an "educational" toy with music, letters, and numbers for the baby.
For each child, I purchased:
1 sherpa-lined, hooded jacket
2 pair of pants (one pair of jeans each and a pair of cute, colored pants each)
1 pair of pajamas
At least 4 shirts*
*For the older two children, I purchased four shirts (one shirt is a solid white shirt which I placed under another shirt in the photos -- so it might look like only three shirts at first glance). For the baby, I purchased an adorable boxed set of seven long-sleeved onesies (so they stay tucked into her jeans/pants better). The onesies have the days of the week embroidered on them and are just precious.
I bought almost everything on Black Friday to take advantage of half-price sales, so I got (IMO) great prices on everything.
Here's the loot I picked up for the 1 year old little girl (it doesn't look there is as much stuff as it does for the older kids, but that's because everything is just so tiny!):
Here's the stuff for the 6 year old little boy:
And, finally, the goodies for the 7 year old little girl:
I also purchased a vacuum cleaner for the family (gotta keep the floors clean for a hygienic place for the kiddos to play!), but I haven't taken a photo of it yet because it still resides in my trunk where it was placed the day I purchased it. (I live upstairs and dread lugging it up to wrap it, LOL!)
I also have 3 $15 gift cards to Payless Shoe Source so the parents can buy shoes to fit each child.
Oh, and I really hope the parents will be able to have me come by on Saturday, the very first day that "Santa's Workshop" will be open, so I will have the cream of the crop amongst which to choose a toy for each child from the city-wide toy drive!
And remember: Santa's Workshop will give me a month's supply of food to take to the family so that they will enjoy a wonderful holiday meal and not worry about groceries for weeks to come.
