I've noticed that I tend to vote higher when I'm in a good mood and the opposite is also true. Is it just me?
Does mood affect how you rate reviews?

I make a point not to vote on reviews if I'm feeling especially pissy. Lately though I've seen more and more reviews which make me feel pissy. I do find that I leave more critical comments when my overall mood is not as upbeat.

I am referring to the reviews that are nearly impossible to understand because the reviewer hasn't taken the time to spell check or proof-read. I do not claim to be the best writer, but I always try to write complete sentences that aren't a whole paragraph in length.

I feel confident in saying most reviewers [like you ] spend time to submit reviews that will be informative and helpful to the general purchasing population. Then I see reviews that don't answer basic questions like material/cleaning/lube issues. That's what gets me "pissy."
I don't expect to read Pulitzer Prize quality reviews and I don't write them. I just ask that people take the time to read other reviews and the review guidelines so that the reviews they submit promote the informative, healthy community attitude we have here at Eden.
The community attitude of this site is what keeps me coming back. I would like to think that even people who don't purchase here can learn very useful things about sexual matters that enhance their lives.

I agree. Really, my ratings are not so much effected by mood (sex toy browsing tends to put me in an awesome mood, after all!), but rather by the clarity of the review. I also give brownie points for thoroughness.

Ok. I'm not in the best of moods today, but I still voted some reviews Extremely Useful and Useful.
But
I just voted my first ever Not Useful At All. It had nothing to do with my mood. It had to do with not being able to understand even half the review.

I've read some bad reviews. I've had to verify that I was indeed actually reading English.

I think reading reviews, with a few exceptions, generally tends to elevate my mood, so starting out in a bad mood doesn't really affect my comments.
