How many of you have been deactivated by WordPress?

Contributor: KnK KnK
Seriously, just happened within the past 30 minutes. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'm pretty sure that my content did not violate their terms of service. I didn't get an email, just a notification that it was no longer available.

Smells like bullshit to me.

I was on for a total of 5 days. Pff. Perhaps I should surprised that I lasted this long?

OMG!! What happens if they decide to do that to all your posts and stuff? Can you still access them to copy and move them?

Apparently I can transfer them to another blog. Thankfully, I can see everything, but no one else can. -_-

What really pisses me off is that there's plenty of "questionable" content on WordPress that stays on the site. I really have no idea why I got picked on, because I wasn't doing anything wrong. There was no pornography or anything of that nature. I had a picture of me that showed cleavage and some sex toy reviews.

Regardless of whether or not they reactivate my account, I have decided that I am getting my own domain. I don't care anymore. This is bullshit.

And to spite WordPress I will post as much "questionable" content as I want. I will likely take my top off or something of that nature.

Try tumblr. They are pretty much up for anything to be posted that isn't illegal in the US.

Luckily nothing has happened to mine yet, and it's been up almost a year *crosses fingers*

I got reactivated... but still this really pisses me off. I decided to open an account with dreamhost today because of this WordPress BS.

Hopefully I'll learn the ropes soon enough as I am paying for it....

Did they ever give you a reason for the original deactivation?!

I would be so pissed off.

It has happened to me before too. I sent them an email asking why I was deactivated, and it was apparently an error on their part. The member of support I spoke to was quite polite and apologetic. I'm going to be staying with Wordpress, at least until I can afford my own hosted site.

Why were you deactivated? Was it due to adult content? I find that they are generally pretty liberal when it comes to adult content.

Very interesting, thanks for posting this! I've been batting between sites and I hadn't made up my mind which one to go with and now I know it won't be Wordpress.

Something kinda quirky about tumblr - one of the about pages for them has their address as New York but the phone number is an Atlanta exchange.

Shoot me an email if you need off-site review URL's changed.

Sounds like a hassle though!

As will I. Though I think yours will have more effect than my mini moobs.

Apparently they didn't like one of the banner ads. It was not adult content, however it linked to web cam modeling. There is no pornography whatsoever...but they didn't like it due to the content and because "WordPress is not for whoring out you affiliate banners."

I realize that I was kind of pushing things, but after I posted it, it was deactivated within seconds. It was freaky and it made me realize I HATE BEING CENSORED and I will not put up with that bullshit. I feel it is now necessary to include gratuitous nudity on my new site just because I can.

The new site is finally up and running. I've been updating like a mad woman.

I feel that Blogger is much more lenient about adult content. You can put straight out pornography if you want to. I've certainly seen it with tid bits of Wanton Wednesdays
