Cleaning the car and house

I'm looking for a vacuum that I can use in my car and inside the house, if there is such a thing. I've been looking at some of the Dyson vacuums because they claim to have this crazy suction across their entire line amd it seems to suit my needs, but, is there a better option that I have yet to find?

I would think that any little vacuum that detaches from the main one would do. And is small for your needs.

That is true, however, not all vacuums have the same suction strength. I'd like something on the more powerful side because I have some crumbs and whatnot stuck in the various crevices of my car and something with weak suction might not be able to do the job.

Also, I want it to do double duty and be of use inside the house as well. The reason I was looking at Dyson is because some of their cordless products can do both. I'm not sure how well but, I do know they can go almost anywhere.

Because we have always had pets, we go through vacuums at least once a year.
The best Vac we have found is a n Oreck. When you buy a regular home vac, you get their portable as well. Both are fantastic.

As a nurse take it from me... I have a Dyson and love it.

Nearly every vacuum can do the bowling ball pick up trick, it is all to do with surface area.

What you need to do is invest in a vacuum that you will use for at least 5 years. Dyson comes with a 5 year warranty and with no bags to clean or serviceable parts if it stops working you get a new one.

With regards to the bowling ball trick, who in the hell is sucking up bowling balls in their house? What in the hell is going on in that place!? Just how bad are those dust bunnies?

I was able to get some real feedback from 2 other Dyson owners. One was a complete stranger and the other is my best friend. Both of them said almost the same exact things about the Dyson brand. It was they are great and they just wish they were a little cheaper. That's it! No other complaints and they have both been owners for multiple years.

I ended up picking up a Dyson cordless model. Now that they are introducing newer versions of their vacuums, I'm wondering if I should also pick up a canister vacuum as well.

You can get a upright that doubles as a canister from Dyson.

I don't understand. The Uprights and Canisters are 2 different models. Perhaps, I'm not picking up what you're putting down. Please elaborate Toy Guy.

Ok the "Dyson Ball DC65 Animal" can be used as an upright but the hose can he unlocked and used just like a Dyson Barrel vacuum.

It can even be used like a Dyson Stick with the long reach tool.

I just didn't realize that both the upright and canister were so versatile. I'm new to the world of vacuums and have never really given them much of a thought.
