My really good friend asked me to attend a Trans* support group with him. I've known him for a while (after his transition--he's post-op) and have always been very supportive in his decision to identify as a male (as opposed to a trans*male). He gets a lot of support from people in his community, and really want to share with me this group of friends and support.
Have you ever been to a Trans* Support Group

Yes, I have one I go to regularly and another I just started attending. I really enjoy them. It feels good to get support.

i go to one although sometimes i question why i do. It's a trans youth group ages 21 and under and i'm the oldest one there. It's full of pre transition kids and its really catered towards them. I think i still go though because i am stealth everywhere else and its nice having some place to talk about these things (even with little 13 year olds)

I have not, partially because I already feel pretty supported/affirmed in my life, and partially because I'm located in a very rural area where I would have to drive an hour or more to find one.

I've never been to one. No need to.. If i did have a friend that wanted me to go for support... I would.. but other than that.. no thanks.

I've never been, but I think it would be a really cool experience, and it's always cool/interesting meeting other trans* people.

No. I want to, but people will read me as cis if I don't know them, as a cis woman, and it'd be embarrassing and overly stressing.

I haven't and don't want to go.

I have not, though, I suppose it might have helped a lot of things come together easier. Then again, everyone is different.

no, I haven't been to this type of support group. however, if I had a good friend that asked me to go to one of their meetings, I certainly would go.

I've never been to a support group but I would really like to one day. I've already had top surgery and been on hormones, living stealth (except to people who knew me beforehand) and very happy.

Mostly I want to make friends in the community, encourage guys just starting out that it CAN be done and life gets better, and get some public speaking experience because activism is something that I want to get more involved in.
