I've bought a few items over the years with gay images on the packaging, and it definitely adds to the appeal once opening them. I approve of companies that are comfortable marketing towards the gay demographic: There's a gold mine there!

I would think that gender neutral marketing is a fantastic idea, especially considering how many of our lovely contributors are on the spectrum. On the other hand, catering to a specific type of couple seems a bit limiting, don't you think? I would love to see something truly gender-neutral, maybe even metaphorical. It seems to me that it would also reduce the stigma around sex toys being some kind of "porn stuff"
