experience ? identity

There are plenty of shitty things that people say about bisexuals but I'm just gonna rant about one right now. It drives me absolutely crazy when I hear people saying that you have to have had sexual experience with both men and women to be a "real" bisexual! So how many of you have heard this before? I'm almost afraid to ask this, but does anyone on here actually think this is true?

EDIT: the title is supposed to be experience (not equal sign) identity but for some reason it just showed up as a question mark after I posted it.

I think it's your feelings that ultimately determine it. If YOU believe you can't be bisexual without experience, then by all means. But It's a very individual thing.

Plenty of people call themselves gay or straight without having sexual experience, I don't feel like you have to have had any specific kind of sex or romantic interaction to "prove" your orientation, it's a personally determined thing. I knew my orientation long before I had sex with anyone, and it remains the same. I didn't need to sleep with people to validate my identity, and I don't blame you for wanting to rant a bit about people's assumptions around that. It's a very frustrating stereotype.
