Bi-sexual or non-discriminating partner

Contributor: indiechick indiechick
I have always told people that I am a non-discriminating partner that I love someone based on who they are not their gender. bi to me limits us to two genders. So which do you classify yourself as Bi or non-discriminant? If you define your sexuality differently let me know. As always there is an other box

I used to say I was bi and then I fell in love with my husband. I don't think I'm capable of loving anyone else as much as I love him or the way I love him, regardless of their gender. I now say that I am hetero-flexible. I could have sex with someone else, but I could never love them.

Pansexual for both gender identity and orientation.

Pansexual, but if I'm coming out to someone that I don't want to explain that to (like most of my family members) I'll just tell them I'm bi because most of the time they'll know what that means and it saves me a lot of trouble of having to explain the differences between bisexual and pansexual.

I suppose I might be described as "non-discriminant", but I prefer "queer" for myself. I identify with the political bent of the term, often experience more attraction for women than most men, and like reclaiming a word that was/is used against me (especially when I was younger and presented in a really butch way). I also don't think bisexual applies to me because it implies (but, of course, doesn't necessarily MEAN) equal attraction to two genders, when my attraction levels change and apply to all genders.

Of course, I don't think there's anything wrong with the term bisexual or people who are bisexual! I mean, I'm in a relationship with one ;-D. I always prefer for people to use the word they're most comfortable with to describe their sexuality.

I personally identify as bisexual... however I definitely know people who identify as Pansexual... just the one word label for non-discriminatory partner.

Pansexual can be difficult to explain so I just say that I don't discriminate

I would say you're pansexual/omnisexual. Have you considered demisexual? That's a term I just learned. It means you're attracted based on personality alone, never looks.

I consider myself bisexual and I'm very like a demisexual, but not quite. Only after I see the personality do I become attracted, but then the physical does become very attractive.

I identify as pansexual, but I don't really know many people who use bisexual to mean that they like only two genders and everyone else is absolutely shut out as a possible partner - most folks seem a bit more open than that.

I consider myself bi because I am attracted to "traditional" masculinity or femininity.

I say bisexual if I need to label myself because it's just easier but I don't like to limit myself that way, I would prefer to not give it a name, I just like people, I don't care what's in they're pants

I usually identify as bisexual simply so I don't have to explain it further to people.
However, in like minded communities, I usually identify myself as pansexual or simply as "I like people, not genders".
