Women: has there ever been a point in your life when you weren't interested in sex?

Contributor: vanilla&chocolate vanilla&chocolate
For a large part of the female population, I think this is a myth - plenty of women I know LOVE sex and are very interested, to say the least! But I know there are some women who would corroborate this myth. For me, I've always been a sexual person, so I view myself as challenging the myth. Where do you stand?

It varies. There are some times where I won't be interested in sex, and some times when I can't have enough. It depends on stress and my mood.

Not me. I've suffered from clinical depression for most of my life, and it hasn't put much of a damper on my sex drive (ok, maybe a little once in awhile.) But for the most part, no. I'd love to see what I'd be like if I were "normal."! Probably a complete nympho and had a lot more partners than just 2.

Before I met my boyfriend, the sex I had was terrible and I could never reach orgasm. I thought it was me, and became less interested in sex. I figured I would have to be happy with masturbation. It took me around four months to be able to reach orgasm during sex with my boyfriend, but now I can rather consistently. I think it was a trust thing. But yeah, that's the only point in my life so far (though I am rather young).

I did not feel very interested in sex when I was on birth control pills. If I am very stressed out about work or school, I will not be interested in having sex.

When I was younger and had endometriosis--sex was seriously painful. I did not like it much then.

When I am near my breaking point with exhaustion, work, stress, to-do lists, and life in general, yes, my sex drive tends to fade to obscurity. All I can think about is "WHEN DO I GET A BREAK?!" Oddly enough, sex would probably help to alleviate some of those stresses ...

Yes, though it was due to medications that lowered my sex drive. I let it go for a while, but finally had my doctor change my meds.

Yes, many times unfortunately. A year or two ago, my Bf and I would go without sex for as long as 2 months sometimes. I just wasn't interested, I believe due to a lot of stress. I wouldn't even masturbate, that's how low my sex drive was.
