Or, alternatively, stand up tall and spread your legs so that all the semen will drip out. Or the woman could simply stay on top during the act.

Lemon juice or vinegar imbibed sponges. Would theorically work, if it also wouldn't imbalence the normal bacterial life in the vagina.

To be fair, it is still possible to get pregnant on your period. It's not a lady's most fertile time, obviously, but it can happen.

I've just heard so many people -females included- that are under the impression that having a period is the human version of "going into heat." At least know your own body, people!

Indeed. You'd think that anybody even remotely interested in sex would take the time to learn how things work down there.

In relation to the myth you posted, the inverse is also very widely believed: that women can't get pregnant during their period, so periods are used as a means of birth control.

I've heard this one, but it was for passing a drug test not preventing pregnancy. Either way, it's just crazy...

Its not that they can't its just not the most probable time, because while and egg could even be fertilized, it has very little to implant to and will likely be self-terminated by the body.

I'm very aware of this, trust me. I'm just relating the myth. Some people honestly believe that it is absolutely impossible to get pregnant on your period, rather than just extremely unlikely.

I still wouldn't have unprotected sex on my period. Better safe than sorry, and if I wound up pregnant it would really just be my own fault.
