Yeah, the Egyptian sexologist is probably my favorite, too. At least the other guys were working with old-timey medical knowledge, but that lady's got no excuse.

I wonder how she'd feel about this website. Probably appalled that most of the women aren't "blank" or think that their husbands aren't doing their job.

That idea that women have to be "blank" when they get married is really scary. She would have no knowledge to guide her first sexual experience and nothing to compare it to!

Ah - so the disciples of von Krafft-Ebing are behind the idea of making women into incubators by law.

By law? That's terrifying.

Mississippi just tried it - women would have less rights than their unborn children (an attempt at banning abortion by also saying even miscarriages are illegal if a fetus is killed). Thankfully, the voters tossed that one out.

Miscarriage... illegal... I don't think I've ever lost so many brain cells at once before. Miscarriages aren't voluntary, fer chrissakes! Not to mention usually quite traumatic for the poor mother, so let's slap a lawsuit on top of her sadness, why not? (Thank you, voters, for actually being smart about it.)

Ugh, people piss me off sometimes. There aren't enough angry emoticons on the internet to accurately express my irritation.

I heard about the proposed legislation. I am glad it didn't get past voters.

I have to check on the progress of the effort to repeal the Healthy Youth Act in my state. The repeal would mean that schools would no longer be required to teach medically accurate, comprehensive sex ed. Basically, it is a conservative agenda to return to the days of abstinence only education (and we all know how well that works!).

I'd like to know how Heda Kotb figures a man is going to be able to please his wife when he doesn't know what pleases her, and she cannot tell him what pleases her, because she doesn't know herself (from lack of masturbation).

Am I wrong is saying that's the most insane thing I've ever heard?

I hope you mean the attempt at making miscarriage illegal, and not my reaction?

Perhaps she assumes that all women are supposed to enjoy the same thing? Maybe that's why she wants women to stay "blank" so that they'd just assume whatever the sex was like was as good as it would get, since there would be no basis for comparison.

... That actually doesn't sound like much of a stretch, now that I think about it. Scary.
