You can 'make love' without 'romance'. Romance is a gesture of affection, same way sex can be a gesture of love. Hence making love.

Both are amazing and also feel completely different. The times that I have made love, my priorities were different in the moment, emotions were high and it was a completely different experience. In the same relationship, though, there are times when sex is just sex -- not that it isn't meaningful, or that love isn't behind it, but it's not always making love.

It's impossible for me to hear the phrase "make love" without a derisive snort. I would never describe sex that way.

I like romantic stuff, but I don't think that it is necessary for sex. I mean, we can be romantic and we can screw - they don't have to happen together. Sometimes they do, and that's great, but when it gets down to it, I'd rather just have a wild time in bed and then cuddle afterwards, ha.
