black and white are not races, they're colors. if you meant Caucasion, African american, Asian, Hispanic, etc., this poll might be a little more accurate. just throwing that out there

i don't like where this is going at all. i like a man based on his attitude, his intellect, his outward appearance regardless of skin color, race, ethnic background, country of origin. or a person based on their sexual orientation for that matter. i'm bi. and i'm not racist. or prejudiced.

I think my preference has absolutely nothing to do with the race of the man. It has to do with how he carries himself and whether he takes care of himself. I really don't let race factor in any way whatsoever.

I am with a white man for 15 years now, so I was not able to be accurate. I did find the color thing to be a bit odd, but when I did date, I enjoyed the person, not the race or color.

Personal preferences are just that and mine don't include color as a prerequisite. I married a Native American and I am Caucasian. I like to think one day the world as a whole will be beyond identifying individuals by the color of their skin.
We are all a part of the human race.

I'll take them all.

I agree with everyone. No preference. If I like someone, I like them, period.

I am attracted to asians and blonds.

Although I never rule out a guy simply because of his race, I tend to be most physically attracted to white men. That being said, I can certainly name men of all skin colors that I find attractive.

It's interesting how people will dance around the issue of skin color, but when asked for a hair color or eye color preference, people seem to like some things and not others.
Personally, if we're going for physical appearance and we DO want to be a bit more "PC" and less awkward, it'd be better if the poll was about skin color, not ethnicity. The person I'm crushing on has reddish-brown skin - I guess he's of Indian descent, I really don't know or care, but his ethnicity doesn't really register on my radar, just like being African American or Italian or Asian or Armenian doesn't matter.
That all being said, I'm very pale, but I actually am quite attracted to darker skin. Just about every person I've been attracted to has had darker skin (Italian to African to Indian).

I will make my foray into this question in the sense of what physical features tend to attract me, rather than a race-based answer. I tend to like older, salt and pepper men, who have strong jawlines and sharp, strong features, and light colored, intelligent eyes. I've found that most of the men who fit my type are mid-forties, executive-looking white men. The man I married fits that type. I have certainly found men of other descents attractive, but they still end up fitting into my preferences because they have strong facial features, and a polished, refined look. I do feel that intelligence translates into physical features, and I've met plenty of white men who you would think I would be attracted to, but if they have a...dumb...look about them, it kills it for me.
So in answer to this question, I have a set of physical preferences, and most of the people who fit them tend to be white. However, the physical features I have mentioned are not exempt to any race, so I have found plenty of men who are not white who fit my type wonderfully.

I don't make a decision on color or race. I pick it on a person.

It would totally depend on the man, and who HE was. I have met desirable, intelligent, courteous men of all ethnic, religious and racial backgrounds, and likewise, I have met losers I would not go near from all backgrounds too. It really is a matter of who the man is (or for a guy, who the woman is), as an individual.

Then the question becomes do you further filter by religion, ethnic background, region of the country they are from??? Honestly, there is NOTHING wrong with you knowing who you choose to date, I am curious, however, how far that filters out...or how many "okay" boxes there are to check that some folks find are needed to select out who they date.

In fact, some very religious folks won't date anyone that does not belong to their specific church sect, and thus they limit their dating to a TINY, TINY, TINY poll of people....BUT they have a LOW divorce rate and seem happy for the most part, so obviously that FILTERING works very well for some people.

I'm visually attracted to really really pale people with dark hair and dark eyes. I just like the contrast.

I have no prefernce. It's all in the person and their personality.

Bad poll. Color doesn't make a person. Personality does. I have only dated Caucasian men but that is due to low diversity in my area.
