Watching porn and erectile dysfunction

Hi everyone!

Many of us like to watch porn. Somebody do it once in a blue moon, somebody has never skipped a new video on porn sites. Watching porn as everything in this life has its pros and its cons. And I'd like to discuss a possible downside of excessive passion for porn, namely its negative impact on erection.

I was inspired for this post by the news about the medical online service posted the video of roasted turkey on few popular porn sites in order to bring attention to the problem of porn-induced erectile dysfunction and encourage men to refrain from watching porn videos.

So what do you think about their initiative? Is it possible that porn could be the cause of erectile dysfunction or any other impairments? Has anyone dealt with such problems and how you handled them?

In my experience, people, not just men, who use pornography as a main source of arousal, need to progressively increase viewing or escalate the content of the material to feel and maintain arousal. They become desensitized to the arousal effects. Additionally, ED does not have one single cause, for many men, it's a combination of relationship complications, stress, body image, self esteem, health complications, and unrealistic expectations from a sexual encounter based on pornography can certainly play a part as well.

I've heard the theory - and as a Sr. Citizen with ED, I wonder...

Is it my age - or something else? I don't watch a ton of porn, but then again QOE may be correct in saying that porn ups the ante for what will arouse you.

I am also interested to hear what the others have to say about their experiences.

I guess porn can't lead to ED on its own. It should be enormous amounts of time spent on watching porn videos, that it could cause problems with erection. I think the lifestyle, in general, has a more significant influence on man's health. And porn addiction can be only an additional factor.

I watch porn regularly, but I can't say it happens very often and I'm not porn addicted. And everything is great with my erection. I think that medical service was trying to draw attention to their site and nothing more.
