Tummy Tummy

Contributor: SexyTigerX SexyTigerX
Since Sept.09 I've lost 44 pounds. Which is really really great!! My husband and I are having a lot more sex these days. Which is also fantasic. The thing is, I hate that my lower tummy is not firming up like I would like it to. It bothers me when I'm riding him and look down and see my not very firm tummy. Working out is a big priority in my life now but with two C-sections done and being 47 it's been difficult to flatten that belly.

So, I was wondering if anyone had some good advise or suggestions on how to flatten the lower tummy area?

Thanks!

Reverse crunches help tighten the area. Much as I hate them, I do them a lot

I have some friends who lost weight later in life and they tell me there's only so much you can do with exersize. The crunches firm up the underlying muscle - but can't do anything about the extra skin. Some learned to live with it - some go for the knife (plastic surgery). There may be some more advanced topical creams that would help - I'd definitely track that down before getting cut!

Congrats on the lost weight. I have also lost some weight, not as much as you, but enough to not recognize my ass when I would touch it.
And it takes time to see improvement with the tightening of the skin after losing weight.

I could propose a fun abs exercise. Stand on your back, let your back as flat as possible. Raise your legs, then lower a leg until you feel that your back is about to raise from the ground. Raise back your leg and alternate with the other. As you get more used to that exercise, you will be able to lower your legs lower and lower, which makes your abs work harder. The first time you try it and that you feel like your muscles burn, do two more. And use that number as the reference for your 2-3 series.

Good luck!

First, congrats...huge accomplishment and you deserve a pat on the back

Second...flutter kicks. Seriously. I was in the USCM and my husband is a soldier. They work

Lie on your back (you can put a pillow under the small of your back to make it a little easier) with your legs straight out. Bring both feet up 6 inches and kick slowly bringing each leg up 6 more inches then lowering. We did this in the military and I had rockin' abs because of it.

Also, cardio will naturally train them too

wearing tight corset material and girdle type clothing can help tone/trian some of the skin back onto place...that is after you think you have the muscle tones as much as you possibly can
