I work in a job where ignoring the phone is not an option. I know for many other people their profession or family life is such that ignoring the ring of a phone is out of the question, so MY question is this...how does that "inevitable" RING, RING, RING at JUST the wrong moment (and believe me, it seems to happen at AMAZINGLY the wrong moment), effect you?
Telephonus Inturruptus....How do YOU handle that inevitable "ring" at JUST the wrong moment?

We always ignore it

For what I do I blow through the battery on my cell at least once a day so when it comes to being home let alone sex that form of communication might as well not exist. I have an I-Phone 4 that I absolutely loved when I got it but when I look at it I think work so I don't even want to see it when I am home.

If I'm in the middle of something, I'll let it hit voicemail without much thought. However, if they call again within 10 minutes, I answer it; that's a sign that something's wrong. If nothing's wrong, though, they're gonna get hell from me.

We look to see who's calling , then decide if we can ignore it or if we need to answer it. Parents or work, answer it; friends or unknown number, call back later.

Depending on who is calling, it can be fun to answer and try to hold a conversation while your partner continues to try and quietly distract you. Just a sort of aural exhibitionism.

Screen the call. The one time I decided to let it go to voice mail turns out it was a friend of ours getting jumped about 2 blocks up the road. Man did I feel like a douche bag.

Ignore! Although sometimes his being on the phone is too tempting to resist distracting.

The dirty boy will have me answer as he continues playing. And of course, I react in kind.

I'm able to ignore the phone at any time ....lol. So I'd just block it out. Nothing gets between me and my playing!

Whatever it is, it can wait. When I was in my early 20's, I would have answered it and continued as usual, now I just don't give a shit and they can call back or leave a message.
There's one member of my family that will bug me to death until I give them a response in some form. Trust me, I have seriously thought about blowing their mind and making them wish they'd never been so insistent on getting hold of me.

We ignore it and when we're done we can call them back.

I always check my phone no matter what I'm doing. 99.9% of the time it's my parents, which I need to pick up for.

We can't ignore it in case it's one of our kids or my FIL. He's having chemo treatments and we've talked him to call us right away if there are any problems. We usually screen the call and see who's calling before picking up the phone.

We usually ignore the house phone and screen cell phone since we have teens and college kids we have to be available to them.

Ignore.

I set my iphone up in a way that if I turn off the volume by that switch at the side it mutes it AND takes away the vibration as well. I can see it light up when there is a call but there is no audio distraction whatsoever and not even a vibration. I like this mode.
