I have a really ugly scar that goes right down my back. I feel this is a huge turn off during sex. I hate curtain positions because of this. I want to cover it with a tattoo. Would you cover a scar with a tattoo? Should I try a fake on first? What kind?
Would you cover a scar with a tattoo?

Tattoo artists generally do a temporary of what you want before you get it. Just get creative! My dad designed all of his tattoos. They all have stories behind them. But also know that you shouldn't be ashamed of your body. That scar is part of you. Accept it! It makes you unique.

First of all, there is no reason to be ashamed of your body. That scar is part of you and tells a story.
Now, do you have any other tattoos? They are great as long as you really think about it before you take the plunge.

tattoos are just about as permanent as a scar

1. The tat will look messed up on the scar. A scar is the best the body can do to heal an area. Tattoo into a scar will encurage more scaring as you are being basicly pirerced millions of times. So if you tattoo it try to think of soemthing that the scar already looks like a tree a branch you get the idea.
2. Being that a scar like that will likel leave nerve damage it could be a blessing or a curse as far as how it will feel.
Lastly if this is your first tattoo good luck. The back would not be suggetion for the my first but imo they look so sexy.

I definitely agree with your first point of order. Tattooing scars doesn't go over well and anyone who oversells you on the concept is just after the $$$.

Your third point - my back tattoo was my first and it was heavenly. But, I'm kind of weird like that.
OP: Be proud of your scar. As others have said, it tells a story. I have two scars which gave me very similar feelings as you have right now. I don't want the general public to see them but I don't mind if my husband does. He tells me they're sexy and I choose to believe him.
If the scar is associated with something really bad in your life, reflect on how you've overcome the issues that were associated with it and how your life has changed and use it as a reminder to never find yourself in that position again. (Provided it's within your personal control and not associated with an illness.)
My I'm in a rambly mood tonight.

Thanks all. I have to say the tattoo is all my idea. The tattoo is apart of me I know and it does tell a story of how I almost died yes. But it symbols also how I have to be for the rest of my life. I am trying to deal with how I hate my body(this stems from my childhood)But I have come to love most of my body) But this I can't and haven't looked at. It is not sexy. But I like to hear any tattoo artitis will do a temp one to see if it right for me. Nerve damage I can't feel a thing. even if it does I am willing do go through it. thanks to all.

It is a very cricked scar up my spine. I wanted a vine with babies breath and rosebuds or something

Sure, if it was in a spot that I was comfortable having a tattoo.
