What types of massage oil (or other oil types) do you use to massage your partner or yourself with ? I sometimes use olive or canola oil on myself.

Wait, I can use coconut oil for massages? My brother uses the stuff for his gums and I find it 90% disgusting but I'll try it if it works.

Like cocoa butter - coconut oil melts at skin temperature - so it works pretty good. I've seen other's complain about stains, although that has not been a problem for us - take that into account.

The skin will absorb a certain amount - so reapplication is necessary - but after saturation has been reached - it becomes ultra slippery. It's also been shown to be anti-bacterial.

But the coolest part is that it's effective - and oh so affordable! Compared to off-the-shelf massage oils, coconut oil costs just a fraction.

Coconut, cocoa and Shea butters are all great for massages and most massage products have some combination of these - but if you have budgetary constraints - like I do, coconut is the easy winner.

I'm curious to hear how it works for you.
