In all honesty, I feel like a lot of the time the media makes this stuff up to get older people "concerned for the youth of today."
There were a couple of times in high school my mom would ask about some "trend" like this, and my brother and I were like "huh? I have never heard anybody talking about that at all," and she would say it was all over Newsweek or something.

Now that I read it I would like to try with people more around my age (teenaged adult, legally adult teenagers... over 18 but under 22? i still consider myself a teen right now.), as long as the people care about safety, boundaries and are open minded.

I have heard of this, mostly it is urban legend type stuff. Like the bracelets and such. I recall be asked about rainbow parties when I was a teen and me and my friends laughing at the fact that our parents actually believed this kind of stuff. Considering I am in my 30's now this one has been going around for awhile, yet I have yet to meet a single person who has ever been to one of these parties.
