Have you ever bought a 'spare' of your favorite toy? After noticing some small raised bumps along the base of my Bandito by Fun Factory, I started contemplating buying a 'spare' in case I broke mine (the weird bumps spread?) or they stopped making them. Have you ever bought a 'spare' of your favorite toy?

Thought about it and would probably do it if I noticed any signs of it damaging.

Definitely. One of my early favorites was the Waterproof G-wand. It broke, after much use, and when I came back here to order another, it was discontinued. I was despondent. Fortunately, a web search led to another site where it was available, and I bought two! They don't get as much use as they used to, but I still consider them favorites.

My favorite toy is my Hitachi, and I don't think those are going to stop being made anytime soon. If it does break though, I have a couple close favorites that I could rely until I got a replacement. But since they seem to have a long life span, I'm not thinking too much about it.

I have had my Hitachi for two and a half years. It is my go-to toy and gets *lots* of use. It is still going strong as ever. I would definitely replace it the same day if it went out.

Hell yes!! I have a couple of my favorites on hand, you never know when they will quit making them, be on backorder or other horrid disasters!! I am actually getting ready to make a replacement or backup order in a couple of weeks.

Heck yes, I think I need a replacement Uma and Salsa, but haven't yet, but I have with other toys before.

Hahaha, that makes me feel better about wanting to get another Bandito. Over the summer I may order another just in case.

My BIGGEST concession to this was buying FIVE of a couple of my absolute all time favorites. Just cannot take chances. One of them, they DID stop making years ago, SO, I am glad I still have three spares, after one broke (melted, actually, after accidentally using silicone based lube sample).

Hahaha, wow. Now I really want to go buy some spares! Which toy deserved 5 spares, if you don't mind my asking?

Yes, absolutely. My favorite cock, Vibratex's Silky, always breaks eventually, so I like having an extra already around so that I don't have to be without a Silky while waiting for the new one to arrive. But I wouldn't buy a spare for something that is supposed to last forever, like the Pure Wand.
02/12/2012
haven't done it but thought about it!
02/13/2012
I wouldn't buy a spare for something like glass or metal, but I would consider it if I had a favorite vibrator or something like that. I learned the hard way that companies often stop making a good product for a myriad of reasons (like Costco's too-good-to-be-true $17 mineral foundation, concealer, and powder set...Oh, I digress.)

I have bought spares before - but I don't any more. There are so many cool new toys that come out, it's more fun to try the new things.
02/13/2012
I'm thinking about getting a spare. The same toy but maybe a different color.
02/13/2012
I have done this with only two toys.
02/13/2012
I've bought a spare for one toy--it's one of my favorites, and I keep misplacing mine. Plus, it's nice to always have one that's charged and ready to go!
02/13/2012
I would probably try a new one.
02/13/2012
I would probally just buy something else inless i really really liked it.

If my favourites die, I'll get over it by buying another different toy to take its place.
02/13/2012
I have a spare of my Wahl. I virtually always need it to orgasm, so I can't run the risk of it dying and my having to wait for it to come in the mail.
I don't have "spares" of our other toys, as they can be replaced with other things that we already have.

Never thought to do this. I think I've considered buying more than one of a piece of lingerie from EF but not a toy.
02/13/2012
Absolutely I have thought about doing this. There are just still too many other toys that I would want to get before I start buying spares of the ones I have. That said if one of my favorites started showing some serious signs of wear I would definitely consider getting a back-up/replacement.

I kind of wish I had. It was discontinued after I bought it at a terrific price, and I've thought about buying a spare from other places but not at four times the price.

For me it would be a little bit too expensive to do that
02/13/2012
too expensive and a little ridiculous, why get more than you need? just seems like a very American thing to do, you should only get just what you need and of course by need i include wants too, but i would never get a spare, perhaps similar toys so if i leave one at home and keep one somewhere else or something but never just extras
