Aroused by food?

Contributor: Owl Identified Owl Identified
Okay so I've been thinking about this for a while but there are precious few people in my life that I feel I could get anything but laughter as a response from. I figure if there's a place I can go with this and NOT get laughed at, chances are it's here. Here's my question:

Does anyone find themselves physically aroused when eating their favorite foods? I mean this in the strictest physical way: in my case I don't actually WANT sex but I show physical signs of arousal (my clitoris becomes swollen, I get wet, etc.) I don't have any food-related sexual fetishes: feeding, that thing where you smoosh food all over your body (forget what it's called), none of that. But when I eat my favorite foods, especially those with very complex or rich flavors (recently: Gorgonzola Dolce with pear and endive, artisanal cheeses, carne adovada, particularly well-fried amarillos).

Sooo...am I weird? Does this happen to anyone else?

I've never had that, actually. But no, it isn't weird at all! I have experienced an erection, however, when watching Amber eat. I do not know why, she just acts so embarrassed when I watch her eat and it's cute so it turns me on.

Cheesecake, definitely cheesecake. Honest-to-God, freshly-made, perfectly-made cheesecake. To me, the Cheesecake Factory dessert menu is serious porn. It's an experience in and of itself, indeed.

Your icon is kind of arousing me. Is that weird? I LOVE CHILIS. I dry my own out and make my own chili pepper

I'm not sure if it's ever happened to me, but it makes sense.. if that makes sense. I mean, if it's really really good and it's making your brain release all kinds of 'happy' chemicals..
Also, spicy foods tend to up the bloodflow and libido, so there you go. Now I wish I had kept the link to the article I read about foods and libido

Haven't you ever heard someone exclaim about their favorite foods that it's "Better than sex"?

To me that would be a very good sweet tender lobster dipped in drawn lemon butter. There are a few other foods that I feel that way about. I'm not sure if I'm sexually aroused, but I'm definitely having taste bud orgasms.

Taste bud orgasms.

I think that explains it!

SL&PL - Thanks! I didn't even know about the chili pepper icon when I created my account, either! (Turning people on is fun.)

Miss Jane - Cheesecake is ghod, no others need apply. ^_^

Newme - Taste-gasms! That's it!

Ladies, now that I think about it, it seems women are more sensitive relating to the sensation of taste. I wonder what research has been done into it in which the taste of food and pleasure of sex are interchangable in our brains ... or would it be merely cultural conditioning because women have been denied sexual pleasure for centuries and the only other outlet would be appreciation of fine food?

On a side note, since I posted my revelation about cheesecake, I've been day dreaming of dragging my boyfriend to the Cheesecake Factory in O-Town and letting him witness my 'taste-gasms'. He's never seen me react to cheesecake before, so this should be *quite* fun.

I know what you mean. My boyfriend is the same way about ice cream that you are about cheesecake. On the one hand, I enjoy watching him eat it. On the other hand, I'm a little jealous! ;p

That bakery is AMAZING. You have to go during the week or at weird hours on weekends, though, because Saturday night, that place is PACKED. Their cakes are soooo delicious, though. * stares off into the distance and drools *

Ahem! Anyway, my roommie actually mentioned something called the "bliss point" to me yesterday. This article sort of explains it: link Apparently, there are formulas of fat, sugar, and salt that we simply find irresistible.

For me, it's chiffon cake with pineapple whipped frosting with a mug of tea. Sometimes chocolate pancakes with cherries on top will do it too.

Although certian foods doot turn me on but when my stomach is "comfortably" full as in im satisfinly full in that good way it will feel almost like all that fullness is pushing on my cervix or somthing and i get really "itchy" and i actually have better, longer and more orgasms. i asked my boyfriend if hes ever felt that and hes like "no that weird" which leads me to a question of my own

when i get "itchy" i feel it in my lower abdominals (like around my uteris and crvix) almost like i feel a fullness or pressure that feels amazing and is usually how i feel turned on before i feel it in my nether regions anyways is this strange or normal ive always wonderd but never asked ne one.

Sometimes, yeah.
Physically and mentally, the right kinds of foods can turn me on. Even just things that I like to drink. I dont have food related fetishes either but I'm not opposed to them, and my fiance has a thing for whipped cream, chocolate, cherries etc, basically body sundaes so I suppose that area will get some exploration by me. I see nothing against honey or syrup etc being used in foreplay as long as you have something down to avoid mess. (Though of course none of it can get inside due to sugars and such, it'd be alright for external or clitoral based foreplay I think.
