We've seen a lot of ads for the clothing optional/clothes-free/ european style resorts or other adult-oriented vacations, but we can't help thinking "Who has actually been to one of these? And are they as fun as advertised, or is it just a big letdown?"

So, in order to get some honest feedback, and not some rhetoric pasted on a travel website, we thought we'd ask many of you first! Would you go to, or have you been to an adults only destination? If you have, what were the pros and cons? If not, what would be your reasons to consider going, or not?

I think I'd go szomewhere where topless sunbaking was ok. I'm not that sexure in my plus sized form and don't think Id be comfortable with others seeing all of me. Heck I'm not sire if my bf has seen all of me naked yet!

But self confidence and body issues aside, I find clothing optional situations to sometimes uncomfortable. I really don't want to be seing old men naked, and of course such situations are like car accidents. You dont want to look but you cant help it.

But cheers to those who do enjoy it, even the old guys I don't want to see, Im envious of your body confidence.

The "old person" factor always seems to be the first thing people mention. So we're curious if that is a stigma, or who actually goes to these places. For those of you who have been, what is the average age of the people attending? Are you able to get past their age and talk to them as people, or too distracted?

I personally would be more interested in going on a BDSM oriented vacation. There are some lovely bondage and breakfasts out there.

Hmm...good point.
Although, the BDSM almost seems to be a class of it's own. At least it is interactive and hands-on in ways the resorts listed above are not! Plus, you don't have to be fully nude to engage or enjoy some BDSM.

I recently went to Jamaica and there was a nude beach attached to our resort. I realy wanted to go but my hubby seemed shy. When I got a look at who was going into the closed doors however, and I don't mean to sound rude but they were all of the really old people from the resort and my hubby and I were on our honeymoon. I would LOVE to try Hedonism however. It looks like a blast. I just want to go where I don't have to decide what to wear. That to me, would be the most carefree vacation I can imagine!

Besides, it's damn hot in the Carribean and I love swimming in the nude.

I want to go to a nude beach sometime, just because swimming naked is SO AMAZING. I didn't realize how annoying bathing suits are until I tried not wearing one. Let me tell you - fabulous!

I've been to a few clothing optional resorts (Hedonism II/Jamaica, Playa del Carmen/Mexico, Roselawn Indiana) and I loved it (naked babes everywhere). Are they fun? Hell ya! You can meet some very open minded, fun loving pleasure seekers at any of these resorts.
