Ropes done well require quite a bit of time and skill - neither of which I have to offer. On the other hand, restraints are pretty simple and straight forward - we use them frequently.

I'm learning both shibari and regular old bondage with ropes, so I'd have to say rope! There are a lot of shibari artists and rope enthusiasts that I follow on Instagram and I decided to try out rope from them. I will never look back! There's nothing more satisfying than being tied up or tying someone else up (or even yourself) with your own handiwork.

Both are great. It just depends on the situation which is the best fit. Leather restraints can really sexy and rope can show truly how much you trust a person. Since its something a little more challenging to get out of. Most restraints unless its the leather ones with the lock placement are really easy to get out of. Those are better suited for beginners and the ropes and leather with the option to have a lock-in place are better suited for more advanced users or those who have a very in-depth trust with their partner. Rope of all the options unless you cut it off would be the one that is the hardest to get out of the dominant would have to release you at that point.

I have a restraint bar that articulates, it is sweet, pantyhose work great too, and they’re soft on flesh.

I like rope and its easy carry around. Restraint are nice in a fix environment where you don't have to move stuff around to save time for plays.
