Over the decades, I realized that while we never shied away from vaginal sex during my period (unless I was gushing and did not want to remove my tampon and mess up nice clean sheets), I would say, "honey, let me suck on you" or would simply turn my back on him and "spread my cheeks" making it obvious he was expected to play in my back door.

Anyone else who is "anal proficient" use it as the "natural back up" (pun alert), when they are at "that time of month", just to avoid the mess???

No. Hormones going haywire = tummy problems. Anal sex while on my period would never, ever happen.

We avoid sex when I'm on my period. I have no idea why. I've made it very clear to him that orgasms help cramps and if he wanted to have buttsecks we could. No matter how many times I tell him "I LIKE BUTTSECKS!" he never listens, and it never happens. Humph.

Kind of funny. Taboo topic, yes, but a LADY GYN just lectured about how SEX (any kind) releases multiple hormones and neuro factors that DECREASE all the symptoms associated with having a period.

BINGO...yes, sex CAN actually relieve cramps!!!

We don't do it more or less. We also don't shy away from regular PIV nor from oral sex for either of us during menstruation. He's a grown man, menstruation doesn't bother him.

We engage in anal no more or no less during that time of the month. I will agree that orgasm helps with menstrual cramps.

No, more often than not I'm just not really in the mood for anything during my period. If I am and I want vaginal sex, I'll just go take the DivaCup out and we can go for it, that's no issue.
