Maybe try neosporin on an anal plug. Of course better to not get hurt in the first place. More patience, more lube, more slower thrusting. If has a big head, don't let it pass the butt muscle in one push. Hold the widest part there until muscle relaxs. And always start with smaller warm up dildos. No need to go big right away.

If done correctly, will be a very pleasant pleasurable experience for both of you

Uh... maybe not neosporin, that's an antibiotic.
Overuse of antibiotics are leading to antibiotic resistant bacteria. Granted neosporin may not be playing much of a factor in bacteria acquiring resistance but why chance it?
I absolutely agree "More patience, more lube, more slower thrusting" It took me a VERY long time to be able to take my larger toys. You're right if done correctly, no pain and very pleasurable!

If you have pain from anal play - IMO you are not doing it properly.

My wife and I enjoy frequent anal penetration - but never with pain. Adequate lube, preparation and patience are the keys to successful orgasmic anal activity.

Gunsmoke has it right, at least according to my fiancee. Once she learned how to have anal sex, she said it was never painful.

If you are feeling pain afterwards, you are doing it all wrong. The only thing I can suggest, is stopping for awhile until the pain goes away. Perhaps you need to use more lube.
