Do you use DESENSITIZING lube for anal play?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
I KNOW that there are a million arguments about why DESENSITIZING lube is bad and dangerous, and how if you cannot feel pain, you don't know when to stop..etc. That is not the question today.

In fact, my question is based on the fact that when I just looked at the multitude of lubes marketed for anal sex, on this site and a couple others, a LOT of them say "mildly desensitizing", so apparently a LOT of that kind of lube IS being sold and probably used.

THUS, the question is...how many of us really are using DESENSITIZING lube? I don't want anyone to not answer for fear of being "chewed" by others.

We are VERY "anal sex" experienced and YES, sometimes we DO use lube with some Benzocaine in it. We happen to like that specific lube and it has NEVER "numbed" me to the point where I could not feel things, or would miss something going wrong. After over three decades of "doing regular anal play" I think I have some clue about what works for me, safely.

Thus, the honest question....do YOU use anal lube with any "desensitizing" agent? Do you use that type lube ALWAYS when doing anal or just "sometimes"? Do you ONLY do anal if you use a desensitizer? If you use it only sometimes, is there a difference in the quality of the lovemaking with and without it?

What is YOUR experience?

I have never used numbing lube with my partners, as I want to be able to feel if anything goes wrong during anal play.

I love how anal feels, so I wouldn't use even a "Mildly numbing" lube, it'd take away from the experience. That and I'm seriously OCD about my lubes, I only use water-based lubes, the more body-friendly the better. Right now I'm hooked on Ride H2O for all my anal needs.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure I'll allergic to Benzocaine.

I've never used even a mildly desensitizing lube, I want to feel everything both for pleasure and safety.

We have never used desensitizing creams, gels, sprays etc.

Not only do both of us want to feel every moment of this beautiful way of making love, we don't want to not feel if something is wrong.

I have, on occasion, used some hemorrhoid ointment the day after, but only when my issues were acting up. (I've had three kids, stuff happens. But, not often.)

Nope, and I never will. Like the others have said, I want to feel everything.

I tried a relaxing spray but I am not sure how well it worked, it could have just been a mind game.

nope, if something is hurting; its your body's way of telling you something is wrong.
