We don't use OTC lubes. We simply use coconut oil - for everything. We do have a separate container for anal vs. vaginal use. Sometimes it all runs together, but we've never had a problem.
Coconut is reported to have antiseptic qualities - and we love that it's solid at room temperature and melts at skin temperature.

I've heard a lot of recommendations for coconut oil lately. I've never heard of using it until a few months ago.

A good anal lube is thicker and stays in place where you put and doesn't run all over the place like a normal water-based vaginal lube does. This is my favorite one Coconut lube

Lubricants designed for anal sex have a thick consistency and don't absorb by skin too quickly, that make them stay slippery for a longer period of time. So oil-based or silicone-based lubes are normally a choice #1 for anal play.
Mentioned above coconut oil is a wonderful option, and I'm in love with its properties and use it not only as a lube but also for skin care. But to be honest, I'm not fond of coconut flavor, that's why sometimes I give my preferences to the odorless options.

Cant go wrong with coconut oil. Its is very slippery an lasts long enough for good session. Just use some towels, and save the oil cleanup on bedding sheets. Not that its a big issue.
