Although I don't mind beads, I believe a small plug would be much more user friendly.

Beads can be difficult to insert and also tend to be a "one shot" toy - once they're pulled out the fun ends (so to speak).
I'd recommend starting with a toy that can be moved around and one that can be used to stimulate the prostate if it will be used on a man. Fingers are great starter toys (and cheap), but a plug, dildo, probe or bead stick can also work well.

I have never tried beads myself; however, I do believe that a plug (from my experience) is better starting off because it gives you a good feeling of fullness. Doc Johnson's small plug might be a good choice.

I like the beads, the probes and have moved onto the plugs. I still love my beads and the "probe" [link|link]. I guess you could say the probe is a type of plug. I like the sensations of the probe and beads being popped out, one by one.

Small plugs are always best. I am very anally experienced and never have liked beads.

That one is my first plug also, I think it's a fantastic choice. It's about the size of a lovers finger, which is about perfect for me, and made of high quality material, and isn't even to pricey.

Personally I started with a slender dildo with a tapered tip, and I found that worked best.

Plugs are awesome.

Oh god, I can't choose. They are BOTH great in different ways. It's hard to compare them.

Plugs...I haven't gotten the hang of beads

Small dildo or buttplug.

I am easing into anal...not a big fan but I am trying and we tried the plug and had much for success than beads
