Are you also getting this "You must change the password" message from Eden? I just want to make sure it is legit and not some kind of scam popping up on my screen.
Did you get this message about Eden account security update?

I did receive it and sent in a support ticket checking on it. They replied yes they sent it.

Just got on and I haven't received this message. I did notice that I did not have to log in this time though.

Hmmm, wonder why only some members get the message? I saw that message after I logged in this morning, and I did changed my password.

I received it and I changed my password. . . But, the thing about it is I ended up with a shorter password and no stronger than before (I didn't add any additional upper-case letters, symbols, or numbers) so for security purposes I cannot think that my changed password is any better. Unless either there is a new policy that every so often you need to change your password or that some passwords were breached. (This is pure conjecture on my part, so don't go full on sky is falling).

I was just asked to verify my email address by clicking on a link. I'm a relatively new member.

I got it and changed my password. I was kind of confused about it, though!

I was asked to verify my e-mail address. Twice.
Once when I logged in this morning at home, and then when I logged in on my other laptop at work.

I think I should submit a support ticket for that.
Also, I use two laptops and they both use the exact same Chrome account as the browser, yet I have to sign on each time I get onto the site from each different laptop. Is this because of a difference in IP addresses?

The IP address is the same no matter how many devices you use. The email verification has always been a little wonky, especially if you use a different email address while ordering.

There has been no breach in security, just taking proactive measures to prevent any instances of breaches in the future.

Yeah, I submit a support ticket for it and I just need to clean out my cookies and see if that helps at all. If it doesn't, the other suggestion was to try to use a different browser.

Thank you (and the other Eden techs) for the proactive security measures! We sure don't want to suffer data breaches like the ones that happened to those giant discount retailers!

OMG THE HELL THAT CAUSED. I had to shut down my bank account, order new checks, wait for a new debit card and I wasn't even affected by it but wanted to make sure I would never be affected by it. Now if we go to that particular store, it's cash only from here on out.

Yes, most likely -- especially the ones who prefer to use debit/credit cards.

Had to cancel credit cards due to a 450 dollar charge on them from SPAIN. Yeah, that was hell alright. Also, for this post, I too got the change your password notification, which I did promptly, just in case.

That's really a shame. Stuff like this will force people into using cash from now on. The internet would die.

So, I still haven't been asked to change my password, but even doing the things that was suggested in the support ticket I submitted, it still hasn't fixed the problem. Soooo, I guess I'll reply to them to let them know and maybe I can only deal on Eden when at home on my HP laptop where I can access a different webbrowser? I use a chromebook at work, so NOT using chrome is NOT an option lol

No, thankfully. But we looked at our debit history to see when the last time we had used to card at that store and it wasn't super close to the dates in question, but it was within range and a sounder decision than waiting to become a victim and being screwed out of hundreds of dollars we didn't have in the process.

Yeah, I'm about to submit a ticket to Chrome. It's SO irritating because Chrome has been screwing up on me in the last two weeks on a lot of sites. I've never had problems with it until recently.

The issue still wasn't fixed and I got the pop up every single time on Chrome, and then it started back up on other web browsers, but then today it was different. Today it came up and said that I needed to change my email address because it was already in use?
Well of course it was already in use, its the same email I've used on this site since I got my account like 4 years ago.
I just signed into my account again after being away for a few hours and did not receive any kind of message....
Huh...

Hello everyone, I'm going to clarify a few things.
We are in the process of transitioning to a new and improved account system, which will utilize SHA-512 password hashing technology (better than Bitcoin) and use email address instead of username.
We're rolling out this new system in steps, first gathering the information that is needed to transition every account, such as a verified email address (to use as login).
We also ask you to change your password. Once done, it will be encrypted with the new technology as mentioned above.
wrecklesswords, we looked into your situation, next time you login you should be prompted to change your password, please do so, and this should be the last time you're bothered with this popup. My apologies for the inconvenience.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
