#Feedback - Reviewer Milestones

Contributor: Ansley Ansley
Hey everyone, I wanted to put up an official post for a couple of different reasons (all of which will be explained).

First, I need to reach out to my current milestone reviewers (you know who you are). Thank you so much for your patience, I know several of you are waiting for me to contact you or put up a thread congratulating your amazing achievement. I have not forgotten about you and due to unforeseen personal reasons, this last month has been kind of a whirlwind. So, okay enough of that.

Expect an email from me by the end of the day tomorrow to arrange your milestone assignment and get your discussion questions to you.

To the rest of you who may be scratching your heads and wondering what I'm babbling about, Edenfantasys gifts a milestone assignment to reviewers when they reach a certain number of reviews.

Currently, when a reviewer hits 100 and/or 200 legitimate reviews, they are given an opportunity to pick any toy up to $150 (with a couple of exclusions) to review. I then send these contributors a banner to mark their achievement and ask a couple of questions about their review experience.

I don't know about y'all but I'm wanting to shake things up a bit. Hitting a 100 or 200 review mark is exceptional and anything above that is just out of this world. I have been reviewing on and off for a little under 2 years and I currently only have 85 reviews under my belt (and probably just as many drafts waiting in the wings).

So this is where I turn to you, my dearest contributors. This is the kind of feedback I'm looking for:

- Current Milestone Reviewers: What questions would you like to be asked for your congratulatory thread? Do you want them to be about the review program, your other hobbies and interests; something else entirely?

- Readers of Congratulatory Threads: What questions would you like to see contributors answer?

For example: DynamicKitty's thread.

- Everyone: Should the thread be published after the review is published so the review maybe included in the thread for everyone to read? What other ways can you think of to highlight this amazing achievement?

Please note the likelihood of the price point of the assignment increasing is: not very.

--Include the item chosen for the milestone assignment, that way we can look for the review.

--Assignments stop after 200 reviews, why not have points for those who reach 300,400,500+ reviews? It was a huge disappointment for me when I was told there was no milestone assignment on my 300th review. (I planned ahead and saved for my own reward at 400--and wait until you see what I have planned for my 500 review!!!)

--I like having the thread right after my milestone has been reached...it is very encouraging and special that it marks the review not the prize.

Well, there's a small problem with including the toy and then having the thread up right when someone hits the milestone. As you know, you are instructed to provide a list of five items, this then goes through an approval process that can take up to two weeks. It's kind of crapshoot when it comes to who will hit and when.

I also would like to know what item the milestone reviewer has chosen to review. When it comes to questions? Hmm... how about

-What's the biggest thing they learned reviewing

-How have your reviews improved the most?

-Whose reviews do you really admire?

-Which review (of all reviews) really stuck in their minds?

Hope that helps!

As a reader I would be curious to know:
What was the most difficult review to write?
Which review did you enjoy writing the most?
If you had EF mentors, who were they?

Thanks for the thread Stormy ~

I really like the idea of posting a thread when we reach the milestone. It marks the milestone and not the item you received.
I also like the idea of adding a bit more info about what we like about Eden, the other suggestions posted, and how Eden has changed our lives.

Also JS250 has a great point about receiving points or something to mark the wonderful achievement of hitting 300, 500, and so on. Hitting 100 or 200 reviews is amazing, but to be a long term community member and reaching 300 or more reviews is spectacular and should be celebrated somehow.

NO--sorry, came out wrong. I meant the 100,200,300th review. Not the toy....usually you ask the questions and take the item request. Make the Milestone come out after approval for the assignment. Goodness, you would think I would read my responses sometimes!!

I agree that there should be at least a little something given when contributors reach their 300, 400, 500, etc. reviews. Do double points for a week? Gift a certain amount? Allow a free product up to a different dollar amount? I would think that something would be done for the amazing contributors who pass the 200th milestone.

Y'all...I swear. Muphy's Law has been at play this week. So Friday, I log on and get all of my stuff up and just as I'm about to start sending emails for milestones, my internet goes dead as a doornail. I spent the rest of the night on the phone with AT&T arguing about service and all manner of things. Finally got it back up and running yesterday afternoon.

Drama. Changing channels.

I think we could bump milestone reviewers to gold status for two weeks after they hit 300+ reviews.

That's sexy. The gold status, not the AT&T issues lol. What about members who have already surpassed the 300 reviews?

I'm glad that I saw this, as I was wondering the other day if milestones were still being recognized.

I think that the idea of bumping members to gold status for two weeks after passing 300 reviews is an excellent idea. 300, 400, 500, 600, etc reviews is a huge accomplishment, and those reviewers definitely deserve a little something for it.

I agree for those who have surpassed 200+ reviews that shows dedication to the site to get some sort of compensation for their latest milestone. Great job everyone!

I completely agree with what most are saying. It takes dedication to Eden for a reviewer to reach 300+ reviews. The contributors who are faithful to Eden and help the community with their wonderful dedication, should receive some sort of recognition for their dedication.

Ok so everyone who has been waiting on me should have received an email yesterday. Please check your spam folders as it was BCC'd to all of you at once and it may have been tossed in there.

Pretty neat, huh? And congrats on almost hitting 50. I'm not sure if I'll hit 100 any time soon.

I was wondering about this. When will "gold status" be activited for those who hit milestones 300+? It it once they send you back the answers for their milestone thread? ( I still have yet to do this lol)

Correct. There's a certain order in which I do things, just to keep track of everything so it does behoove one to return documents in a timely manner but one that is still at your convenience. This is also when you will receive your banner.

Here's some interesting info for you - when the milestones assignments began it was to mark the second person ever to reach a hundred reviews in the review program. This was in 2010.

In 2011, there were 12 milestone reviewers.

In 2012, there were 22 (or it might have been 24).
