Unavailable items to get from EF!

I have just had an idea, as I was being sad about not being able to get some toys because they are discontinued, or not available for purchase...

What if there would be a special solution, that you could ask for one, but you would for example have to pay more for it, because it would be a special request! But it would still be a good solution, because EF would sell it when somebody requests one, and you could still spend your points, even if it is more, instead of being disappointed that it isn't available on the site...

What do you folks think about it, is it a good idea?

The big flaw that I see with this is that if you're spending your points, you're not spending real money while Eden is to procure that product for you special order. And things get discontinued for different reasons. Maybe it's no longer available from the manufacturer, maybe the manufacturer can't ship out just one and there has to be a whole order, maybe a lot of different things that would make it probably very not worth it from Eden's standpoint. And then we come back to Eden having to pay whatever for it with real money, and not getting anything back if it's getting purchased with points.

I think it'd be cool, but very impractical.

Getting just one product is not always an option. Many times items to retailers come in bulk with a discount. You also are forgetting the wages for the person to procure that product, the cost of shipping, adding it to the inventory, taking it back out of inventory, customs on some products, and the all too famous other. There is more cash and work in getting one item than there is with 100. Seriously!! I own a business.

Yeah, this doesn't make a lot of sense from a business perspective. If you want something that's discontinued you can usually find one on the internet somewhere. If you planned to pay all in points, that just drives the point home that Eden wouldn't stand to make any profit from a setup like this.
