As far as bath and body or lubricants and whatnot, it would be nice if we could review the same product in a difference scent/flavor. Because that would better represent our feelings on that product in particular. For example, if the cinnamon flavor/scent really sucks, but the peppermint is AMAZING, and more people tried the cinnamon first... That wouldn't give the right representation of the product. Because now that they've already reviewed the cinnamon, they cannot go back and review the peppermint. See what I mean? Does anyone agree?
Does anyone else think it would be nice if we could review different flavors/scents of a product?

That would be good material for a follow up review, but to review the same product seems kinda silly to me.

I voted that I don't think it should be an option.. as far as doing a totally new review just for a different scent/flavour...
What would maybe be better is to be able to add to our current review of the product that we've tried another scent.. but not in the follow up review.. maybe an option like, clicking on to edit our review and there be a place where we can choose what other flavour/scent we have tried and then add a short summary of how we felt about the other flavour we have tried.. does that make sense?
I personally wouldn't care if people could review other flavours,etc.. but I think that for me, I wouldn't need to do a completely new review just to describe my opinions on a scent (because the packaging would be the same, the texture of the product would be the same.. well, everything would be the same.. except the scent/flavour

I actually think this idea has been proposed before.. or at least asked about by another person.. If I can find the thread, I'll link it here

I think you have a good point, but understand why EF doesn't do this. Everyone has different opinions on scents and flavors, so it is hard to say one person could truly give good advice to everyone about which is best.
I do think that perhaps EF could allow more free reviews on flavored/scented products that are for different scents. I am not sure if they do this, but I think it is still limited to 2 reviews for these types of products.

I think that is actually a really neat idea. Or at least, if they limit it at 2 reviews per product, make sure that both reviews have different scents/flavours so that the reviews will at least have two different scent/flavours to read up on, rather than two of the same?

I agree. I just remembered that the other day I was lamenting this with the Intimate Organics Body Souffle. It took me at least a dozen reviews to find one where someone had gotten the fresh orange / wild ginger scent.

Do you mean for free assignment or at all? I'm assuming at all. I would love it if the review pages would CHANGE when you click on a specific type of the product. So if there were vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and no one reviewed the strawberry, the reviews for the other flavors would disappear on the product page. They should do this for lingerie too... PS vs. OS and colors in some instances. I don't however think we should be able to review the same product and just change the part about scent unless they made it so they were not free reviews.

what if the full set of flavors was offered as one review? or like "choose 3 of the 9 available?"
12/07/2011
And, the products that come in slightly different styles or colors!
I think the flavor one is especially relevant. Those with allergies to a particular flavor will want to read the reviews on other flavors.

I get what you're saying and it does make sense, but I have a few issues with being able to review the same thing in multiple scents/flavors/colors/ whatever. I think that there are people who would do it as intended, but I also worry about all of the people who may say "oh hey, easy reviews with minimal work" and use that to sort of pad their review numbers. I also think that follow ups are a great place to make note of this for now, although I wouldn't be opposed to being able to edit our reviews way after the fact again.

You actually could do this, but all in one review. I have for a few things.

Reviewing different scents makes more sense to me than reviewing different colors. I really don't see a need to review the same things in multiple colors, because it would still be the same. Scents on the other hand, would be great. I never really buy scented products online because I am afraid of getting them and hating them, or getting them and regretting not getting another scent; both of those things have happened enough that I just stopped buying scented products online altogether. I think being able to give opinions on multiple scents would be better, and would make me more likely to buy scented things from EF (which I have several on my wishlist but always afraid of wasting money that I can't afford to waste on something that I won't like).

I think especially with flavors, this would be important. Like with anything, some flavors are going to be better than others. Getting chocolate vs strawberry for example, really could make a huge difference.

I wish reviews would distinguish flavors/scents like with color options. However, I don't think we should be able to submit separate reviews for each flavor/scent.

I don't see the necessity of this. I think the product would be fairly continuous except for scent, and the review should focus on the quality and performance of the product. If you didn't like the scent, just say so and recommend trying a different scent. And if another scent is amazing, you can put that in a follow-up review. Just saying.

I voted incorrectly. For alternate scents or flavors of the same lube, I think a follow-up review would be the perfect place for that, as someone else mentioned.
12/07/2011
I think it would be great if we could more easily tell which scent was being reviewed but to do a free review for every scent? That'd be a lot!

I could see assigning one product out for a free assignment, but not a different scent/flavor/style for the same product as a free assignment.
Spread the joy, ya know?

I have thought this as well, Your best bet is to post that info on a follow up review.

I would like to try all the different flavors of JO flavored lube, and be able to add them to my first review of the peach flavor. Then you can keep all the different flavors on one review.
12/08/2011
I think being able to amend a review later would be great.

I think that's a great idea!
