Write reviews, for the most part. Vote on reviews. Participate in the forums by posting responses to threads and starting posts that add value to the community as a whole.
It seems like it takes forever at first, but you'll notice your rank improving in no time.
And welcome to EF!

Hey there, and welcome to the community! A very simple answer on how to build up your rank is to be active, publishing reviews and being a part of the community.
Kindred has a great thread about tips everybody should know about Eden, and Viktor wrote the student's guide to the mentor program. There's also a whole bunch of super friendly people willing to answer questions if you ask them, whether it be through a personal message or here in the forums. Just be sure to do a forum search before you post a question though, a lot of times it's been covered a few times already and people who have given great answers in the past may not always want to repeat themselves. Also, I've had some questions answered very thoroughly just by searching.
No matter what though, welcome to the community!

Great advice so far. I really can't add anything to what they've already said, so I'll just stick to saying: Welcome to Eden!
