I don't mean trading/swapping/gifti ng or any of that. I mean sending them to a place where they'll be melted down and repurposed.
Yes, most towns have a recycling program in place, but I have several issues:
1) My town is specific about what number plastics they recycle. None of the toys I've purchased to date have been marked with a number so they wouldn't be accepted.
2) Silicone is a type of rubber. The recycling truck where I live does not collect rubber items, those have to be taken, in person, to the recycling center. (There's a fee for tires, wonder what they'd charge for dildos? )
3) I know the guy who picks up the recycling in my neighborhood. Waving hello and chatting with him would be extremely awkward if I knew he'd just recycled a glass toy along with the pickle jars and soda bottles. That's more info than my neighbors need to know about me.
