Exactly. I felt bad when I got the last (I assume) Devine Toy Chest Eden had. I mean, I wanted the case, but I felt bad that they were all gone and no one else could then get one if they wanted it.

Eden does have limited stock on many items, and I think waiting for items to finish a bidding war would be a problem. Especially when using coupon codes and discounts. These expire and waiting would effect the rest of your order when you are ordering in bulk to get free shipping and discounts.

I don't think that would be a good idea

well I guess it depends on how people feel, doesn't seems to be something people think will work out

Eh... from a business standpoint I would find it a more hair-pulling experience. That's adding another department of sorts right there. It would be a hassle and what EF has now seems to be going well.

Yes P'Gell.. As I said before, items are not going to be offered in Auction only. You can buy it directly with the price of (buy it now). But If else one find that price is over his budget, then why not giving him/her a chance to try get it at lower price through Auction like ebay.com system?

Also bidding is not a war.. we bid to have things at lower prices, not because we hate other bidder. Bidders will be unknown ..

I can be sure that bidding at EF will be so clean and ethical than in ebay.com, because at EF it will be under control of EF only because it is the only store here, so no one will bidding just to rise the price up.

I think making it seperate as with the classified it would be alright but to just have it no I would prefer not to.

By "war" I didn't mean hatred. In the US, the term "bidding war" is just used to talk about haggling for a price. No offense meant.

It just occurred to me that this would be a cool option for closeout items.

Also, I'm surprised to see so many naysayers! Has no one ever haggled at a brick and mortar store? It's not standard at chains, but you can often haggle at independently owned places ("I love this, but I only have $15..").

These are not sex toy manufacturers. The industry MATTERS here. Not only that, but many consumers would prefer not to buy sex toys on eBay.

Auctions don't make sense when you manufacture in bulk, which is what most sex toy manufacturers do.

I don't think it'd be a good idea for EF to sell in such a way.

If this is what Eden wanted to do, that's their decision, but I wouldn't buy this way. I buy from ebay a lot, but when I do, I always search the "buy it now" listings, so I don't have to wait and wonder if I will end up getting the product or not.

I already get very good deals with all of the rewards Eden offers so I do not see the need for such a program. Also Ebay is more of a business with others selling within and the site itself getting a processing fee, that would work better in the classifieds section. Eden is an actual online shop; yes it has the community, points, etc. but at the end of the day it is still a business. I love ebay and use it all the time but I don't want it here, it's not needed and I think Eden is generous enough as it is.

i like the way things are now, I personally wouldn't use the option, when I ebay I also look for buy it now because it's a pain in the but to wonder and wait to see if you got the item.

I love this place the way it is, I love the points and free stuff for review, it's a community not just a site to buy stuff. If I wanted to bid on stuff that I dont know about I can do that on e-bay not here

Bidding actually tends to drive prices upwards and make things MORE expensive. I think EF is fairly priced

This is how I feel about it too. I like how things are on EF right now, it would be sad to see it turned into something else.

Either I'm really not understanding you and what the advantage is, or this is a culture difference.

Adding bidding to this site would not make business sense and Eden is already so generous with sales, points and other freebies. It seems like Eden has a great system for rotating their stock and moving merch.

I totally agree with P'Gell, that for Americans, this is a repugnant idea.

Again, I may just be having a huge disconnect in understanding and I'm sorry if I am.

I'm with everyone else on this. It may be a good idea for the Classifieds, but not on the actual site. There's MSRP for a reason.

When I want to buy a toy, I want to buy it. An auction is something totally different then a store. If they also want to set up an auction, that's fine too, but the price of selling the item, will always be less then their retail price...or why would anyone pay more? If they spend less on it, then it is a losing game for EF. In short, no advantage to buyer or seller in that game.
