Contributor Names

So far there are 3 Average Joe's- although one doesn't use spaces and the other uses an underscore. It's very confusing. I don't know what I'm asking for- but is there any way to safeguard our contributor names to prevent people from adopting them by adjusting spacing or using underscores?

I couldn't figure out why the reviews were off compared to the Average Joe's reviews I've come to expect. Thanks for pointing this out & I completely agree!

Unfortunately there is always a way to create a similar name, partially we can prevent this by adding a validation rule which will not allow to use the underscores for all future screen names. All current screen names with underscores will stay intact.

That works! Because I know I've seen a lot of variations on the same name. Cinnamon is popular too

The one that I was surprised about was that there are two named Maria, but one of them has the accent on the 'i'. That threw me for a loop when I noticed it. At least it seems like Average_Joe hasn't posted since April of last year, so maybe he's done. It doesn't seem like there would be a good way to protect all variations of a given name.

In my defense, "Miss Cinnamon" is a name I chose for myself back in the days when I wished I was a gay man just so I could be a drag queen (long story about poorly executed method acting and doing a scene from 'Angels in America'). But, yes, Cinnamon is a pretty popular spice when it comes to names.... Maybe I should change my name to Miss Paprika to stand out more?

Lol! It just doesn't roll off the tongue like cinnamon though does it? A friend of mine named her kid Saffron though... so spices are *pardon the pun* hot now.

We could all just adopt Roller Derby names... I call Anita Toynow!!

and then there's ChristianNymphos, who all chose different spice names...actually that's pretty cute.

At the very least it would make sense for there to be a suggestion when you sign up to look at the list of reviewers (with a link to the list in alphabetical order) and check that no one shares your name. I imagine the Average Joe situation is annoying for all three of them (assuming they've noticed).
